Due to the regulations of Stelvio National Park and the fact that both takeoff points are located within the ski area, it is strongly recommended to consult local pilots before planning a flight. For information, you can contact A.S.D. Parapendio Alta Valtellina: www.parapendioaltavaltellina.it

Despite the fact that they are mainly north facing, due to the relative altitude of both take-offs, there are chances for good XC flights. Please, as described in the "The Basics" page, respect the boundaries and rules of the Stelvio National Park.
Bormio features two main takeoff sites:
Bormio 2630
Bormio 2200
For cable car information during winter, please refer to the official website: Bormio Lifts.
The Bormio 2630 (Cimino - 4 posti) takeoff faces north/northwest and is primarily used during winter/spring. It is located immediately east of the "Cimino" chairlift arrival station.
Access during ski season: Reachable directly from Bormio via the "Bormio-Bormio 2000" cable car + chairlift.
Access outside ski season: Reachable on foot in 1:30h from Bormio 2000, where it is recommended to park your car.
⚠ Important: The landing spot is in the valley and not in Bormio 2000.

The landing zone is located near the base station of the Bormio-Bormio 2000 cable car. It is a small triangular grass field, bordered by the main road (Via Alù) and another side road.
📍 The map below is centered on the landing field.
⚠ Important: In late spring and summer, the valley breeze can be strong, so be prepared for potentially challenging landing conditions.
Be mindful of the nearby cross-country skiing ring and the cables of the Bormio-Bormio 2000 cable car when approaching for landing.
Summer: In the afternoon, the valley wind can be strong, making landing conditions more challenging. Plan accordingly and assess wind conditions before your final approach.
